Dark Underarms :( . . .

I think we have all been to that point in our lives when we look at our underarms and it looks like a black hole. And if your like me; no matter how much you scrub those underarms or shave they still end up looking dark. For the past month I have been scouring the Internet for the solution and I have come across a few that don't involve harmful lightening products or waxing (oww). Below are some homemade remedies (DIY, yah!) for this unsightly problem.

The first recommendation I found on a lot of sites was to use a buff puff on your armpits. This helps scrub away any left over deodorant that can build up over time, odour and possibly contribute to the darkness under your arms.

Baking soda paste:

Mix baking soda and water until you create a paste... Apply. Rinse off after 10-15 minutes.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apply Apply cider vinegar to a cotton ball and wipe over problem areas. No need to rinse!

Potato Juice:

Either blend the potato into a paste, or just cut open for all the juices and rub over problem areas!

Enjoy :)

Starry Night . . .

There is no denying I was inspired by the stars while creating this look and video. Being from Canada, there is nothing better then laying out watching the stars whether it be by a lake, in a field or in your backyard; on a clear night you can truly get lost in the stars. Anyways, I wanted to attempt and recreate the beautiful night sky's on my nails and I am pretty satisfied with the results!

I made a video to explain the process of creating this look and added a couple pictures. You can check it out below or at my YOUTUBE page:

Lets Face It . . .

Thanks to my friend Michelle who sent me this awesome e-mail with at home skin care treatments!! The following post is completely credited to her! Thanks Michelle!

For decades we have been trying to find the perfect skin care solution for ourselves. But at what cost? What lengths are we willing to go for? For that perfect Skin Care Product ? The cosmetic world is a billion dollar industry there are millions of companies that want you to buy their product because it works….No really it works…you can’t live without it….Well that product that you can’t live without is most likely filled with harsh chemicals that strip your skin of its natural moisture and oils and it probably has been tested on animals! Both are not cool and either way you look at it what good is this product doing? Honestly what are we doing to ourselves? We need to look at the natural organic effects rather than the science of a skin care product. Here are some simple yet effective NATURAL ingredients to renew your skin care routine and rejuvenate your mind body and soul. A simple change can be good. Try it!
Enjoy!
Green Tea Face Scrub
1 green tea bag- ¾ cup boiling water-2 Tbs. sugar-1 tsp. honey
Steep tea bag in boiling water for 2-4 minutes. Remove tea bag and cool. Place 1 Tbs. sugar in a bowl and add 1 Tbs. tea. Stir, then add another 1 Tbs. sugar. Stir again, adding honey. Spread the scrub over a clean face and massage in a gentle circular motion for 2 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
Ocean Body Scrub
1 Tbs. powdered kelp- 2 cups sea salt or sugar-1/3 cup apple juice-2 Tbs. honey
Mix all ingredients in a bowl; spoon into a jar with a tight-fitting lid. In the shower, massage into clean, damp skin. Leave on for 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Peachy Keen Face Mask
1 ripe peach-1-2 Tbs. warm olive or almond oil
After removing the skin and pit, mash the peach in a bowl. Drizzle in oil and mix until it forms a spreadable paste. With a clean makeup brush, apply a thin layer of the mask over your face and relax for 15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
Tea Tree Toner
¼ cup of distilled water-¼ cup witch hazel-1 tsp. tea tree oil
Pour all ingredients into a clean bottle with a tight fitting lid. Shake to combine. Apply to a clean face with a cotton pad.
Minty Hair Rinse

2 mint tea bags-½ cup of boiling water-2 Tbs. apple cider vinegar
Steep tea in boiling water for 2-4 minutes. Remove tea bags and cool. Stir in the vinegar and pour into a re-sealable bottle. After you shampoo, condition and rinse your hair, pour the mint rinse into hair and scalp. Massage in and style as usual without re-rinsing.

From The Kitchen, To Your Hair . . .

I am constantly looking for ways to avoid hair products that are full of chemicals and cause build up. Recently I came across a list of iteams that you can find in your kitchen that you can use in your hair! Yay! Not only are you avioding these chemicals and build up; you know what is actually being put in your hair and its cheap!

Baking Soda!

Baking Soda pretty much kicks ass. I mean it can be used in so many different ways from oudour, to teeth, to hair! Yes, hair. The truth is, Shampoo is an asshole. We use it and yes it temperarly cleans are hair but it also leaves us with horrible amounts of build up on our hair. Yuck! Yes, your hair may look shiny and health after using a specific shampoo but truth is, that is not your hair! It's a glossy coating and hardly does this shine last long and your hair gets dirty easier. So the solution, apart from buying extremly expensive organic shampoos; try this! Once a week add 3 Tbsp. of baking soda to 3 Cups of water. After shampooing rinse your hair and then pour the baking soda mix throughtout you hair and follow by conditioning. Once you have done this, you will be left with shiny and silky hair, and it really will feel brand new.

Eggs!
This one is really simple and is great for dry or brittle hair! Go ahead, whip up one or two eggs (depending on your volume of hair) and rub them into dry hair. Cover with a towel or shower cap and leave on 15 minutes before washing out. And please remember when you are washing the egg out that the water is not too hot! Unless you want cooked egg chuncks all throughout your hair! So again, NO hot water, instead cold water!

Molasses or Maple Syrup!

I have actually never heard of this one before! And when I read it I thought for sure that putting these ingredients in your hair would lead to a huge mess and it would be extremely sticky, but I was surprised! For anyone who has dry hair or just wants a boost this is for you and remember to use real maple syrup or malasses to help produce better results. Pour either of these things (you can dilute the molasses with water if it’s too thick to scrub in) on dry hair. Wrap with plastic wrap or cover with a good shower cap. Leave on for 20 minutes. Wash as you normally do. Also, did you know that ingesting Molasses daily can help clear up acne and streghten hair and nails. Interesting . . .

Apple Cidar Vinegar!

I have always heard great things about apple cidar vinegar and I was really impressed by the results! If you suffer from dandriff or just want beautiful hair this is for you! All you have to do is mix
1 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar to 2 cups of water and shake well. After shampooing and conditioning pour mixture throughout hair, after you can either leave your hair or give it one more rinse.

Olive Oil!

Olive oil is great for all hair types and is truly amazing! To moisturize and strengthen:  1/2 cup of olive oil in the microwave for 15 seconds (or heat on very low for a few minutes) – just until it’s warm enough to matter, but not so hot that it burns your skin. Apply to damp (not dripping!) hair. Wrap with plastic wrap or cover with a warm towel. Leave this on for 20 minutes to an hour, and then shampoo out as usual. To smooth and shine: Put a scant 1/2 tsp of olive oil in your palms and rub. Then apply to the top of your hair, moving downward.

And there it is! I hope you all try these and have awesome results!

From Beauty's to Beastly . . .

"See I'm not sure if you know this, but there are two kinds of fat people: there's fat people that were born to be fat, and there's fat people that were once thin but became fat... " - John Bender

Ah, how it pleasures me to quote one of the best movies I have ever seen in my 19 years, The Breakfast Club. I think Bender said it best we may be born one way, but not always does this hold true to the rest of your life, it may be a few horrible decisions or maybe just genes either way; with age a lot of people start falling apart. There are only two men I know of who were born good looking and died good looking, and those men are undeniably Paul Newman and my Papa. I think we can all agree on the fact that Paul Newman was a complete babe and silverfox . . .

And as for my Papa although I do not have pictures at the moment I will upload later and you should just take my word on it :)

Now to the truth of the quote, unfortunately time has not been good to some men and I am here to point this out for everyone to see and just bluntly say it how it is, YOU USE TO BE HOT. (Keyword: Use) Let's see who went from beauty's to beastly and gasp at the horror of once was and now is.

Ryan O'Neal
First I would like to say I loved you in Love Story. But my friend time has not been very nice to your physical or emotional being, you have completely lost your mind. I guess it is debatable if you ever were sane but I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Now on to that appearance, what happened to that chiseled jaw, with the naked eye I can count 5 chins, sir you have put me to shame. And could I please point out what should be the obvious in this picture... Where are your eyebrows! Surly to god you can afford a make up artist, brighten those babies up or at least fake it! For Christs sake, you married Farrah Fawcett.

Jack Nicholson
Jesus Jack, ya maybe at one time the whole eyebrow thing was sexy but dude it's time to give it a rest and maybe get them waxed. And I just don't get the shades, I mean we get it, your old and you need glasses. But wearing glasses that look like sunglasses doesn't hide the fact and your just feeding in to all of Corey Hart's bullshit, it's not cool to wear your sunglasses at night. There I said it. And the cigarette I mean this speaks for it's self I love this guy but he may very well be a heart attack waiting to happen and that is the sad truth. I think Jack has potential to be a good looking older guy, he just needs to take better care of himself. But I guess that one flew over the Cuckoo's nest a long time ago.

Mickey Rourke
I think this one is pretty self explanatory he spent a little time in the slammer, got a little bit too into the illegal paraphernalia and alc. And now he looks like the male version of Joan Rivers! Seriously Mickey, you could bounce a quarter of that face; it's THAT tight. What happened. . .

John Travolta
I don't think anyone can confidently explain this one and do it justice, ever. It's like his head got four times bigger and his jaw got oddly wide. I just can't wrap my head around this one. I mean his features are almost too small for a head that size, like the head to features ratio is just so unbalanced. And the whole Scientology stint and Tom Cruise, I mean anything to do with Tom Cruise immediately turns me off... But that head. . .

Sylvester Stallone
Just looking at this man's face now is puzzling. I am concerned. In about 2 year this man will not even be able to talk which may be an improvement from his constant mumbling. Its called annunciation. It's almost as if he is a Mister Potato head and all the kids put all the pieces in the wrong spot. I mean, I am convinced that I could do a better job then his plastic surgeon working out of the back of a Chinese restaurant, using old heroin needles and a paring knife. Come on!

Mel Gibson
I think we can all agree that this man always had a little something, something to him. And come on he played a great Braveheart who doesn't like a man in a kilt. I challenge you! But as of the last couple years with the drunken racism, abuse charges and movies about beavers. He has lost a bit of that charm. I mean this one disappoints me! He was John Smith; yes John Smith from friggin Pocahontas. He has my first crush. You let me down Mel, you let me down!

Robert De Niro
I was truly torn with this one. I still don't believe that he is that bad looking today. But, his profile is just not as impressive. I will always love him though and he will always love 'em black ladies.

Harrison Ford
This one is not that bad either. But what you do have to look at here is him in comparison to his Indian Jones days because he was at his prime. And now, not so much. And Harrison I got three words for you: lose the earrings. Or else your bound to lose them forever. All I am saying is that ears get saggy and so do holes and what is stopping that whole from eating that earring up.

Corey Haim
Lost Cause.

Andrew McCarthy
Omgstache that Dad did, OKAY!

Judd Nelson
This one really pains and upsets me so I will make it fast. He used to be the perfect rebel, but I don't know WTF happened . . . Wah! This had to be a 90's phase.

Alec Baldwin
When I was younger I had the hardest time wrapping my head around the fact that his name was Alec and not Alex. I just couldn't grasp it. Ya, this guy is funny even to this day but I got a couple notes about what went wrong here. Number one, he looks like that creepy uncle everyone has and two, he looks like he ate a small child.

And there it is men who used to be hot but are no longer. If you have any suggestions or complaints please comment below! Also, I may be adding to this list so check it out from time to time! I hoped you all enjoyed this as much I as I enjoyed blogging this!

My apologizes to Bruce Willis truth is, you were never and still are not good looking to make this list, stop trying. Your pissing me off!

Eyebrow S.O.S . . .

You Must Never Underestimate The Power Of The Eyebrow - Jack Black . . .

So as of lately it has become undeniable obvious that I am in need of some eyebrow TLC. So for the last month I have been killing myself looking for some sort of eyebrow kit preferably one with a serum for hold; because god blessed me with bushy eyebrows . . I don't know why, but the idea of waxing my eyebrows really freaks me out; I guess I am scared that because it is so fast and "easy" that if I do get them done I may hate them and not be able to do anything about it. But, if I pluck or someone else plucks I can monitor how much is being plucked and when to stop. If that at all made sense :). To go along with this blog I found a fabulous quote by Jack Black, the master of the eyebrows; that man has the most expressive eyebrows of all time and the quote spells out some truth. Yes, he may be referring to his amazingly expressive eyebrows; but I think this quote holds true in general, that with maintenanceof your eyebrows it can balance out your facial features, it frames your eyes, it can make you look more youthful and redefined. There is no negative. Anyways, I found this awesome kit by e.l.f (eyes lips and face); which is a makeup company based in the U.K, and I love this product. It is from their eyebrow collection and it is called Summer Ready. I found this at Winners among the unorganized and insane amount of beauty product that they carry and it was only $5.99 + tax. The package comes with, four reusable stencils, tweezers, an eyebrow application brush, brow setting mascara and eyebrow gel and powder. Below I have listed a picture of each product and a summary of whether I liked it or not, enjoy :) ! !

This is the packaging it came in with all the products.

This is the eyebrow gel and powder. The gel is the darker brown on the left and the powder is the beige on the right. I really like this gel and powder. They are both lighter then my eyebrows which is great for blending and making my eyebrows appear natural and not colored in and instead achieve great definition. What I love most is that the gel is a really light gel that isn't sticky and almost applies like a powder. Over all I like this product and would give it a 8/10.

The tweezers that this package comes with are smaller in size but aren't made of really light, cheap material, and instead the heavier stuff. Which is the only beneficial thing about them really. They do pluck well, but if you are settling in for a major eyebrow pluck these are not the one's to use as they are just too small. But like I said they are good to maybe pop in your purse and use for plucking those stragglers. This product, I would give a 4.5/10.

This my favorite out of them all and the whole reason why I bought the package. I have heard many good things about it by youtubers Beauty Crush and Ugly Face of Beauty. And I have found to really like it too! It holds very good without making your eyebrows feel stiff or hard. I would give this product a 9/10.

This the e.l.f professional concealer brush that it came with. And I use this to apply the gel and powder on my eyebrows. Really simple, I like this brush it is soft, narrow, and doesn't eat up the product. I would give this a 8/10.

Finally, the stencils. I hate them. They don't work and are hard to use. Good idea but just not as easy as you would think. I would give these a 0/10 for the fact that they are useless.

All in all I enjoy most of these products and really like the results I have gotten so far. Enjoy, I hope this was helpful!!
