Desktop Manners...

Now that school has started I find myself spending almost all my time in one spot. One spot that I made sure to neglect all summer due to the fact that I had spent the previous eight months stuck to it like glue. My desk. With a busy school year, volunteering, and work I find myself on my computer for the most part of each day. Doing homework, looking for jobs, looking for co-ops, researching and the odd time getting my fix of celebrity gossip. But I promised myself something, if I was going to spend the majority of my days hunched over this desk, well then I will fix it up a bit. My once boring and over sized desk has now turned into a place where I don't mind hunching over all that much. It's , warm, creative and uniquely me. I thought I would share my new desktop with you all. A desktop that I have been dedicated to creating over the last couple of weeks.. I think I have almost got it just the way I like it... Almost.. It's a good distraction from homework.

Regular rolling desk chair. With faux fur draped over. So comfy, so warm, so cozy!

Summer Wrap .

Needless to say I have had an extremely busy summer! I hate that I haven't had much time to blog but I have acquired some pretty awesome memories that will truly never be forgotten over break. As always this summer like so many before seems to have flown by! I am having a hard time believing that school has already started and an even more difficult time coming to terms with the fact that I am now in my third year of college. For those who don't know, I started this blog my first year of college which means that I have been blogging for three years now. It hardly feels like three years! As I look back through my posts I can see that my interests and subject matter have swayed in a variety of different directions.

Blogging has always been a great way for self expression and mostly a fun hobby. But as I enter my third year of college I find myself zeroing in on a particular theme; dedication. Not only do I want to fully dedicate myself to my studies this year but also to this blog. Of course my schooling will always come first, at least for the next year or so... But I have so many wonderful ideas for this blog and I am really excited to start sharing them with all of you.

So in the spirit of starting somewhere I thought I might give you a recap of my summer...

Like any struggling, money hungry, desperate student I spent a lot of time working this summer. Although it wasn't the most glamorous job, it allowed me to actually make money and have time off to enjoy my summer. To clarify, what I mean by "not the most glamorous job" is I spent hot summer days working in a factory. So you can understand why sweat, work boots, and constant heat rash isn't the most glamorous thing in the world.

After working all summer I finally had the opportunity to take a little break. I decided to go visit my family in Nova Scotia with two of the most fun; yet sometimes irritating travel buddies, my sister and good friend Ashton. We had an absolutely amazing time due to three main themes that anyone who has visited the East Coast can agree with. Drinks, ocean and seafood.

After an amazing trip and some memorable stories we headed back to Ontario... Where not even a week later we went to the Boots and Hearts Country Music Festival in Bowmanville, ON. Where the fun times and memorable moments continued... A weekend full of cowboy boots, beer and unfortunately heat stroke.

So, after a long hot summer it is back to the real world, school. This may just a flash of all that took place this summer, but it was a really, really great summer.
