There's A Lot You Don't Know...

Relatively new to this whole blogging thing I thought I would create a post that seems rather popular in the blogging world. So, I have completed one of many "About Me" questionnaires. Obviously I am not going to share every little detail of my life, and trust me it is not that interesting. But, here are a few things that I am sure many of you don't know about me. Also, living on my own I have a lot of free time, almost too much...

 Enjoy!

1. Put your iTunes on shuffle. Give me the first 6 songs that pop up.

Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash - Girl From The North Country Fair
Etta James - All I Could Do Was Cry
     Alabama Shakes - Always Alright
Melissa Manchester - Don't Cry Out Loud
The Tragically Hip - The New Maybe
Irie Love - It Is Wut It Is

Amazing live performance. I love so much of this video. Johnny Cash Show 1969.

2. If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be?

     The Queen.

3. Do you have any strange phobias?

     Goat bi-products. It's a long story...

4. What is your favorite band?

     The Band.

5. Do you have a collection of anything?

Of course. Movie posters and records.

6. Craziest nights of your life?

    1.  Prom night. Long story short, my best friend Michelle and I got my 1998 Dodge Stratus stuck in the woods, with no cell phone reception...

Michelle & I

     2. Last summer I went to see Florence and the Machine with one of my roommates and I am not sure I can even recall what happened that night...

     3. Belgium. European tequila... Almost positive it should be illegal.

7. What was the last book you read?

DaVinci Code - Dan Brown. It has been awhile, but I finally got around to it...

8. Do you have any nicknames?

     Tulala. Delicate. Vic.

9. What is your heritage?

Scottish & Nova Scotian. Lethal combination.

10. What would you want written on your tombstone?

"Here's to feeling good, all the time."

11. Where do you want to travel?

Spain, Italy, Portugal. The saving has begun; graduation trip 2015.

12. Who was your first celebrity crush?

When I was younger most girls were obsessed with Backstreet Boys or N'sync. I was deeply in love with Elvis and James Dean. But my all time celebrity crush and arguably my first, Colin Firth. I have forever had a deep admiration for older men...

13. Your favorite drink to order at a bar?

Whiskey Sour... Dangerous, but so delicious.

14. Do you want to get married/have a family?

At this point in time, no. If I did get married I can guarantee it will be Elvis themed and quite possibly happen in Las Vegas because this is what every little girl dreams of.. Well, not every little girl but certainly this one.

15. What is your greatest fault?

I am too passionate and therefore have a tenancy to get in over my head. But when I want something, I want it bad...

16. Do you own any pets?

I personally don't own any. My parents have a Cockapoo named Bobbi who is female yet named after Bob Dylan. Also, myself and my roommates have a cat named Eloise wondering our apartment. Were not sure 100% sure whose responsibility she is...

17. Worse vacation?

Being older I now appreciate this. But at the time I wanted nothing to do with it..

18. Where is your favorite place on earth?

My cottage & Nova Scotia.

Cottage life, where drinking pails of wine is acceptable.

Nova Scotia...

19. What is your most prized possession?

My life sized cut out of James Dean, a letter and autographed picture that Gene Simmons himself sent me and my Gerard Butler autograph. Yes, I met Gerard Butler and it was marvellous.

20. The most influential person in your life?

My Gran.

That is all for now! I am also going to tag any other blogger who reads this so please share your links below!!

Thrift Is Still A Virtue . . .

As a student there are a magnitude of lessons that you will inevitably learn over time. Some you have to learn the hard way, some will come easy, some are good, some don't make sense at the time, and some  you will eventually learn to value. As a current student I can confidently say that a lot of these "lessons" have unfortunately come the hard way for myself. But, I wouldn't have it any other way, I will forever be endowed with some truly unbelievable stories. For example, prom night I may have or may not have got my car stuck in a forest, in middle of the night, with no reception. Sounds like a horror film and at the time I thought I was about to live one. But, these are the types of stories that ultimately taught me a lot and that I can look back at now and find humour in.

One of the greatest lessons I have had no choicee but to learn as a student is managing my money. Even when you find yourself working three part-time jobs and things are looking up. Be prepared because speaking from experience, things can turn around very quickly. Not that I was horrible with money before but like any young adult with a disposable income. What I found worth and value in has drastically changed over the years. Now in my 20-somethings I know not to be as frivolous with my money, which is hard because admittedly I love to shop. At first there was no balance of these two things in sight, but eventually like all good things this balance was soon discover. Therefore, I have had to make some changes in the things that I buy and the places I buy them from. With this I have found marvel and amazement in thrift shops.  At least once a month I will find myself at a thrift store rummaging through old records and home decor. Two things that I will admit I have quite the obsession for; a healthy obsession of course.

So with this blog post today I thought I would share some of my favourite finds from my thrift shop escapades. I am relatively knew at this whole thrifting things and I am sure there is plenty more for me to discover.  But for now, perhaps you will be just as excited as I am in regards to thrifting....

I am sure I will have many more similar posts to this in the future... But that is it for now.
