JANUARY FAVORITES !

Hey Everyone,

As you know it is a new year and along with the list of resolutions that I have made for this upcoming year, updating my blog more frequently was at the top. For anyone like myself who generally has a lot to say about anything blogging is a great outlet and I am going to start taking advantage of that.

I am constantly searching online for new ideas and tips of how to keep my blog fresh and relevant. Through my endless searching I found that a lot of blogs no matter what the theme, tend to do monthly favorites. I am always picking up little things here and there over the course of the month, some that I love and some that I hate. And so, I want to share these finds with all of you. As much as I hate to remind myself I am a poor college student... Therefore,  I am not always able to shop for the things that I want but I often find great alternatives. Perhaps some will interest you...

RIMMEL LIPSTICK

These are my four favorite colours of lipstick that Rimmel has out at the moment.
In order from left to right :
Lasting Finish Lipstick in CANDY (002), Lasting Finish By Kate Lipstick (08), Moisture Renew Lipstick CORAL QUEEN (620), & Lasting Finish Lipstick BORDEAUX (124).

I truly love Rimmel lipsticks they have an amazing colour selection and have relatively good stay. I find that the Lasting Finish line is very pigmented and stays true to its colour. This being said, it is a little heavy and I would recommend applying lip balm prior to use or glossing after applied. I really enjoy the Lasting Finish by Kate it has more moisture then the original so it doesn't dry out your lips as much and can be applied with greater ease. Finally, I adore the Moisture Renew line as I find it hydrates my lips and leaves a glossy look without that typical gloss "sticky" feeling. I would highly recommend the colour Coral Queen to anyone who is looking to experiment, I have a relatively lighter skin tone and I love the way it looks on my lips. So fun for summer.

KISS EYELASHES

I love false eyelashes and wear them almost everyday. I have experimented with a lot of different brands and styles, nothing impressing me more then KISS. They are very affordable, easy to apply and have a natural look. One of my favorite finds EVER.

CUREL HAND & CUTICLE THERAPY

I was lucky enough to be sent this particular product in a monthly Glossy Box. With the winter weather in full effect my hands have a tendency to get very dry. I have found no other cream that works faster then CUREL and the results are truly amazing. After just a week of use my hands are softer and brighter.

LES MISERABLES
BY
VICTOR HUGO

This next favorite is quite the commitment and I would not recommend it for anyone currently in school. I was completely absorbed by this book over the Christmas holidays but being back at school I haven't been able to recommit to it. For anyone who has a great appreciation for literature and culture I would recommend this book. I haven't finished it completely.. But, I am getting there.

OH, MARILYN

For those who know me personally you  know of my obsession with old Hollywood; James Dean in particular. But I could not pass up on the chance to purchase this amazing picture of Marilyn, there is a simplicity to it that I really adore.

SCARVES

The dangers of three for ten scarves my friends and these are only a few of my favorites. With the cold weather I want nothing more then to be cozy and warm all the time. Not only do scarves aid in this but they are also a great accessory. Scarves are something I have definitely taken advantage of in the month of January.

COCO DUFFEL DUPE

I have long been looking for a dupe of Alexander Wang's Coco Duffel Bag. Of course as a student I am not able to afford designer bags as much as I would like to think I could. So I am often searching for dupes of things such as this that I want. This is more of a purse opposed to a duffel but what I love best about both are the studs on the bottom. So cute!

NEW YEAR

Lastly, I wanted to share my New Years dress. It is flowy, sparkly, and fun. Everything that a New Years dress should be!

It's An Obsession...

Hey Everyone,

It is about time that I share an obsession of mine with all of you. Are you ready? This will absolutely shock you!!! Okay... I am obsessed with the media. I know, how shocking especially for a PR student and all. To be even more specific I love the entertainment industry, for me it's overwhelmingly addictive. Not a day goes by where I do not check Perez Hilton, Yahoo!, TMZ or Just Jared to name a few of my favorite gossip sites. Although having an obsession with the entertainment industry is anything but healthy. I do like to pride myself on the fact that I could care less about how Kayne and Kim are having a baby and am more interested in let's say this years Oscar nominations. To bring this obsession full circle, I particularly love the film industry more then any other entertainment industry out there. And with the Oscars approaching I have been trying to brush up on this years Oscar nominations. Out of all the movies and performances that I have had the pleasure of viewing I cannot get over Silver Lining Playbook. Even more so then Les Mis, which is a huge deal for me considering how much I love musicals and how badly I struggled to suppress my emotions and the urge to sing during the movie. I got VERY into it...

I think the reason I enjoyed Silver Lining Playbook so much is because I love nothing more then movies that tell of inspirational stories and give viewers hope. Especially when these inspirational and hopeful movies have a little bit of romance mixed in there...  In all seriousness Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence have amazing chemistry despite the age difference. I would actually care if they decided to have a baby, even if it was Kim and Kayne style. Although I find it highly unlikely that this movie will win all that much at the Oscars this year considering the abundance of amazing films that have come out over the past year. I will still watch in hopes to see this amazing film win something, anything or maybe catch a look of longing between Jennifer and Bradley...

Anyways, I decided upon writing this post because I want to share with you some of my all time favorite movies and actors. My taste may not be extraordinary in what I consider an amazing actor or film and yes perhaps I did cry at the end of the Twilight saga. But these are all simply individuals and films that make me happy and where I can always turn for inspiration to brighten up my day. Check it all out below!

Favorite Movies

1. Bridget Jones Diary - I could watch this movie everyday and never grow sick of it.
2. Now and Then - A true coming of age tale.
3. Rebel Without A Cause - Anything James Dean related I tend to love.
4. Almost Famous - Amazing story.
5. Cat On A Hot Tin Roof - A heartbreaking film.

Favorite Actors

1. James Dean - Classic.
2. Colin Firth - What real men are made of.
3. Tom Hanks - I mean it is Tom Hanks...
4. Bradley Cooper  - Just recently won me over. His performance in Silver Lining was heartbreaking.
5. Gerard Butler - Did I mention I met him. @TIFF 2011. Best. Moment. Of. Life

Favorite Actresses

1. Jessica Chastain - The Help. Lawless.
2. Jennifer Lawrence - She is truly amazing.
3. Meryl Streep - No one can beat Meryl.
4. Julia Roberts - To be honest, I love every movie she is in.
5. Diane Keeton - Everything she does is gold.

18/12/12 - Favorite

Hey Everyone!

I have been thinking of trying something new with my blog and now that the holidays are here and I actually have spare time, I can do it! I am a very passionate person, I like a lot of things and when I like something I want to tell everyone about that particular product, brand or what ever it maybe.  A couple times I week I will be posting on what my favorite stuff is at the moment. As well as give some recommendations of products and such that I think you would all like. So today on December 12,2012 I will posting my first favorite. I have thought long and hard about it and I have decided on which product to share with you today. It's one that I truly cannot get enough of at the moment and is so perfect for the holiday season. It is  "All Is Glam, All Is Bright" from the line Nicole by OPI. It is so pretty and festive; I absolutely love it. The glittering colors that they use in the polish are perfect for this time of year. What I love about OPI products is their drying time, I personally have no patience so I am always trying different polishes to see which dries the fastest and OPI always comes out on top. I also really love the play on words that OPI uses for a lot of their products, so cute. I would recommend this color to anyone who loves nail polish and is looking for something flashy and Christmas-y. I received it this month in my Glossy Box and am so extremely pleased with it.

Check it out!!!

My Body Is My Journal & My Tattoos Are My Story...

It's true. You know that moment before you go and get that first tattoo and everyone; your parents, friends and even strangers tell you that once you have one, you'll want more. After I got my first tattoo I had everyone telling me that I would in fact not be able to stop at just one. For the longest time I wanted to prove all those people wrong. I wanted to be satisfied with one tattoo; just some small bit of writing on my foot. That was until a couple of weeks ago when I got the sudden urge to do something spontaneous. No, never should anyone get a tattoo purely out of spontaneity. But I had really been thinking a lot lately of what kind of tattoo I would get if I was indeed going to get another one. I guess the tattoo itself was not the spontaneous part, but rather the act of actually getting it done.

I had decided that if I did get another tattoo it would be the letter "L" on my wrist. I never thought I would actually follow through with it.. Until I had that moment of weakness, that urge that everyone warns you about, to go and brand myself once again. I hate when people refer getting a tattoo to branding... Makes me think of poor little animals and... Well, you get the picture.

I have always been proud of who I am, where I come from and that is what the letter "L"means to me. It represents the pride I have in who I am and who my family is. I have always been very close with my family and I hope that never changes... When everything seems to go to hell and those people are standing by your side without flinching, their your family.
